Published by Summit Marketing Team on 20 Mar 2024

James Enney - Full Body

As a hybrid firm, not only do we serve our clients remotely, but our team members are often distributed as well. We understand the accounting, bookkeeping, cash flow management, and tax nuances of running a distributed company. We pride ourselves on our ability to provide the highest quality Virtual CFO services while being hybrid, and we couldn't do any of it without our amazing team.

Every month we spotlight one of our employees so you can get to know us better. This month we bring you James Enney. James has been with Summit for 3 years. He is a Virtual CFO here at Summit.

Here are 10 things about our March Employee Spotlight, James Enney!

      1. Do you love working from home or would you rather be in the office?

As a career office dweller (with some pretty impressive offices in the mix), I am fully committed to the work from home (remote) life. Be mindful that remote work can be performed anywhere!

      2. What’s your number one tip for combating distractions when working from home?

Have a dedicated workspace. Whether working from home or working while on the road, I strictly use this space only for work purposes.

      3. Are you an early bird or night owl?

Night owl. Unless I am catching a flight and there is plenty of coffee available.

      4. Do you play any sports?

My wife and I have limited our competitive sports to racing and golf to allow more time for our band, where she is our drummer.

      5. What’s your caffeinated beverage of choice? Coffee? Cola? Tea?

Coffee wins that battle every day (and night).

      6. Best book you’ve ever read?

Not a fan of "best" anything, but the one book that has stayed on the shelf is "Get in the Van" by Henry Rollins which chronicles his experiences touring with Black Flag in the early '80s.

      7. What would your superpower be and why?

The ability to become invisible as needed. Perfect for heroes who dislike applause, excel in eavesdropping and prefer their good deeds go unnoticed.

      8. Do you think you could live without your smartphone (or other technology item) for 24 hours?

        Absolutely.

      9. If you could do anything in the world as your career, what would you do?

In my alternative world, I would be a Caribbean-based seaplane pilot. Navigating tropical skies and azure waters, connecting remote islands and offering unique perspectives on breathtaking landscapes and seascapes to tourists and locals.

      10. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

Talent has its limits. Success hinges on your determination, drive and the commitment to stay focused - factors completely within your control.
