Getting to Know Your Customers

How well do you know your customers? It’s important to know your customer base in order to market your product or service effectively. Trying to sell to anybody and everybody may diluted your message and waste company’s resources. And don’t forget; a satisfied customer is will not only return for more, but they will usually refer other customers to your company too. How can you make sure you are reaching the right customers? * Who is you typical customer? What are their ages, interests, gender, aspirations, and financial and social status?

* What are your customers looking for when they shop at your company? Are they looking for selection, quality, price, service, or some combination? Is efficiency, expertise, or willingness to accommodate special requests particularly important to your customers? Do they demand convenience, or are they looking for atmosphere, ambiance, or status?

* As you create marketing tools and ads for your company, put an emphasis on what your client’s value. Communicate in their style and manner. For example, low prices may not appeal to those who are more concerned with status just as an ad to sell power tools rarely feature people in suits.

It’s mutually beneficial for you to get to know your customers. The products and services that you provide are valuable to your customers as well as creating revenue for your business making it a winning situation for all concerned.
