- Seek positive customer reviews. Although potential customers may search for reviews on a product, they may not always think to about leaving a good review about their experience with your business after a purchase. Think about sending a follow-up email to your customers with a link to the product review section for product they purchased. Be sure to ask for a review of their shopping experience. Many are happy to leave a review, especially if they count on product reviews themselves. A review from your satisfied customers will boost your online profile as well as increase your SEO. Be sure to make the process as user friendly as possible.
- Turn negative reviews to your advantage. Keep an eye on your reviews. A bad review can ruin your business reputation if it’s not quickly resolved. A negative review gives you an opportunity to show any potential customers that you work hard to resolve a situation in a timely manner and to the customer’s satisfaction. You can do this by taking the time to listen and understand the customer’s complaint. It doesn’t hurt to show a little empathy for the situation and apologize for the problem and offer a reasonable solution. These reviews are not only for the customer complaining, but for other potential customers who will read the reviews as well.
- Keep reviews current. If you have a long history of reviews it will show customers that you’re an established business. However, it’s essential to keep your reviews current to show relevance and ongoing business activity to your customers.
