Alana Best - Full Body-1

As a distributed company, not only do we serve our clients remotely, but our team members work remotely as well. We understand the accounting, bookkeeping, cash flow management, and tax nuances of running a distributed company. We pride ourselves on our ability to provide the highest quality Virtual CFO services while working remotely with (and for) our customers, and we couldn't do any of it without our amazing team.

Every month we spotlight one of our employees so you can get to know us better. This month we bring you Alana Best. Alana has been with Summit CPA Group for a year-and-a-half. She is a Senior Accountant here at Summit CPA Group.

Here are 10 things about our November Employee Spotlight, Alana Best!

  1. You can only eat one food again for the rest of your life. What is it?

    Green Chile Chicken Enchiladas!
  1. What is your go-to karaoke anthem?

“Whatever It Takes” by Imagine Dragons
  1. What is your favorite type of sandwich?

White bread, ham, government cheese (Land O’ Lakes American Cheese), and mayo.

  2. Imagine you can instantly learn any language. Which would you choose?

    Irish (Gaelic)
  3. Do you prefer big dogs or small dogs?

Big Dogs! (But I really prefer very big cats like my Maine Coon – Menace (short for Dennis the Menace))

  4. What was your favorite class in high school?

    Wood Shop!

  5. What is your favorite part of working from home?

I really like that I can control the environment I am working in. I also like being able to get up and do things around the house as needed and the short commute!
  1. What do you usually eat for a quick lunch?

    Cottage Cheese and Peaches.

  2. What is your #1 recommendation for someone visiting where you live?

I moved to Michigan just before the pandemic, so I haven’t really explored the state yet. I moved here from New Mexico where I lived most of my life. If you visit New Mexico, you must see the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, make a trip to Taos for the natural beauty, and try the Green Chili!
  1. Which song could you listen to over and over again?

That is a tough one! It changes frequently but right now it is P!nk “All I Know So Far”.
