Accounting Professional
Rachael is a staff accountant with Summit CPA Group. She enjoys utilizing her accounting skills to bring peace of mind to her clients. She holds a Professional Bookkeeper designation, is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor and is an affiliate member of the AICPA.
Professional Experience
Rachael began her accounting career in 2001 as a bookkeeper in the landscaping industry and rapidly took to QuickBooks. Her career has included management positions in the accommodations and manufacturing industries. Rachael has also managed accounts for real estate, transportation, not-for-profit and missions organizations. She has extensive experience in individual tax preparation and successfully ran her own business for 5 years before joining Summit CPA Group.
Education
Rachael completed her first 3 years of study at JU in
Florida with a concentration in Marine Science and French horn performance. She did humanitarian work both in South America and
Kansas City,
MO for 5 years during which she obtained a one year degree in Biblical studies and became fluent in Spanish. Most recently, Rachael completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting at
Indiana
Wesleyan
University and is currently preparing to sit the CPA exam.
Personal Profile
Throughout her life, Rachael has had the privilege of living in many different countries and experiencing other cultures. She is married to Simon Picazo, and after living in
Florida,
Chile,
Missouri,
Kansas, and
Alaska, they are ready to settle in
Fort Wayne with their two children. She enjoys running, playing French Horn in the Ft. Wayne Community Band, and cheering on her son in soccer. She is also a
Mentor and Instructor with the Fort Wayne Women’s Bureau offering courses in Accounting and QuickBooks.
